Happy Holidays everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying this time of year as much as I am.

With Christmas only weeks away, I imagine there’s a lot of pressure being felt  to get the gift shopping done.  It seems inevitable. Whether your list is long or short, your budget large or small, Christmas shopping can be a daunting experience.  The traffic, the long lines, the pressure to pick the perfect gifts all lead to one thing- STRESS!  And who needs that?  Not me.  Yet, how can we avoid it?  Well, I have discovered one way not to let the holiday madness interfere with the joys of the season.  I remember that the best gift I have to offer anyone I care about is ME!

The problem with the hustle and bustle is that it distracts us from the simple truth that the most important thing about the holiday season is the opportunity it brings for togetherness. Making that all that it can be is the best way to give this coming holiday. Be aware that the people you’ll be sharing the holidays with are depending on your presence for a special and meaningful holiday. And by presence, I mean not only your physical presence, but your whole presence.  Be mindful of where you are, who you are with and what they mean to you.   Take it a step further and let them know it. Allow yourself to be in the moment, get lost in the beauty and warmth of your surroundings, and share some love! Share yourself.

Remember that your friends and family will love your gifts, but they love YOU even more!  You are the best gift of all.  So don’t leave the better parts of yourself at Macy’s.  Keep it together the next two weeks so you can be your best you at your holiday gatherings & give your loved ones the ultimate gift- your time, your attention, your great big hug, your laughter, your love… YOU!
